Consents Officer - Natural Resources or Land Use

Tasman District Council has two exciting opportunities for people looking to build or further develop their planning career within our Resource Consents team. We are recruiting for the following positions:

• Consents Officer - Natural Resources: working within our Natural Resources team, focusing on regional council consenting matters such as water, land, and environmental management.
• Consents Officer - Land Use: working within our Land Use team, supporting district planning and development activities across the Tasman region.

These two permanent and full-time roles are primarily responsible for providing professional services and advice relating to resource management checks on building consents, assisting with the preparation of Property Information Memorandums and responding to customer enquiries.

We are looking for people who:

• High-level of customer support skills and the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
• Can-do attitude, and ability to work constructively and positively within our busy team.
• Excellent digital literacy and an eye for detail, especially reading and understanding plans.
• Relevant qualification and experience in planning, environmental science, science, law, geography, or related fields.
