Community Development Manager

Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the Community Development and HR Departments encompassing all aspects of community engagement and management of the Westland Recreation Centre, Spring Creek Pool, Library, and Museum. In addition, you will lead district economic development activities, manage the effective and efficient planning of the Council’s LTP, Annual Plan and reporting processes while ensuring strategic initiatives are planned and successfully deployed.
Your Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strategic thinker with proven leadership experience. You will be outcome driven with an innovative streak. A background in community development, excellent communication skills, and exposure to the local government environment are essential to success in this role, as is your ability to engage with your team and community. Ideally you will have a relevant tertiary qualification but of equal importance will be your energy and drive to make a positive impact within your community.
