Community Development Facilitator - Arts Strategy Implementation

Waimakariri District Council is recruiting a part time Arts Strategy Implementation Facilitator. The successful candidate will be required to work effectively across a broad range of stakeholders in an evolving and growing community environment, guiding and supporting achievement of the goals and objectives of Ngā Toi o Waimakariri- The Waimakariri Arts Strategy.

We are looking for self-motivated people who can motivate others and encourage innovative thinking, to generate solutions to community-identified issues and opportunities related to arts in the Waimakariri District.

To be successful in this position you will demonstrate significant experience in:

•  Working to a community-led model

• Working with people from a diverse range of cultural, socio-economic and values-based demographics

•  Networking

• Community Engagement
• Navigating systems and processes – ideally at local government level
• Facilitating groups, including organising and running meetings
• Project planning and evaluation
• Working across a range of sectors, including health, education, business, social and community.

You will need to be well organised and able to manage a workload of diverse priorities, to achieve timely outcomes. You will be able to work well as part of a team. Your ability to build rapport and influence will compliment your excellent communication skills. Being passionate and willing to bring energy and enthusiasm will definitely be a plus; as will knowledge and appreciation of the local arts!

It would be advantageous to have had active involvement in a range of communities of interest and have knowledge of governance structures, including Trusts and Incorporated Societies. It is expected that you will have some knowledge of Tikanga Māori and Te Titriti partnership principles.
