We’re looking for a creative, social-media-savvy grad who loves telling great stories. Reporting to the Communications and Engagement Manager, with day-to-day interaction with the Mayoral office, as Communications Advisor you’ll help shape the Mayor’s online presence and showcase the people, places and energy of Upper Hutt.

You’ll plan and post content across multiple channels, write everything from captions to speeches, capture photos and videos at community events, and work closely with the Mayor’s office and the Comms & Engagement team.

No two days are the same — and your ideas will genuinely matter. Some evening/weekend mahi comes with this opportunity because the best stories don’t always stick to business hours.
