Building Officer - Compliance


Based in Richmond in the heart of the Tasman region you'll be a valuable part of our Building Assurance Team. This is a hands on role responsible for conducting timely building compliance inspections and taking appropriate actions where non-compliance issues are identified under the Building Act. You will also carry out building warrant of fitness inspections and work with commercial owners to ensure they are maintaining their building safety systems.

While candidates with practical experience in the regulatory or investigative field of compliance are preferred, if you are from a trade/building background, technically minded with strong communication and negotiation skills, and a pragmatic approach we would like to hear from you. You'll need to be someone who won't shy away from challenges, and while being a solid team player you'll also be entirely comfortable working autonomously in the field. Good knowledge of the Building Act and construction experience with the NZ Building Code is a minimum requirement.
