We’re seeking a Building Compliance Team Leader ready to step into a full-time operational leadership role with a small, committed, close‑knit team.

Based in our Thames office, you’ll lead day‑to‑day building compliance activities, ensuring inspections and enforcement functions are delivered to a consistently high standard across the district.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, coach and support a close-knot Building Compliance team
  • Oversee monitoring, compliance, and enforcement activities
  • Ensure high‑quality inspections, including BWOF and swimming pool fencing
  • Meet statutory timeframes and compliance requirements
  • Build effective internal and external relationships
  • Drive continuous improvement and practical solutions
About you

 

You’re a confident, supportive leader who enjoys developing people and helping teams perform at their best. You bring sound judgement, strong communication skills, and a balanced, solutions‑focused approach to compliance.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in building compliance, including BWOFs and pool fencing legislation
  • A building or building control qualification (advantageous)
  • A genuine passion for coaching, developing, and empowering people
  • Clear communication and confident decision-making
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
