The opportunity - Te āheinga

Are you ready to dive into a role where every day is active, rewarding, and full of purpose? We're on the lookout for a superstar Assistant Duty Lifeguard to join our awesome aquatic team!

In this role, you'll be the friendly face keeping our pool safe, fun, and running smoothly. You'll support our Duty Lifeguards, help oversee pool activities, and make sure every visitor has a great (and safe!) experience. If you're passionate about water safety, teamwork, and making a difference, we want to hear from you!

You'll need to be flexible and available to work on a rotating roster between 5am and 7:30pm, including 2 out of every 3 weekends. Early birds and weekend warriors - this one's for you!

Key responsibilities - Ngā haepapa matua:

  • Ensure health and safety is maintained through actively supervising all activities within the centre that meet industry standards and respond to any incidents and emergency situations
  • Perform water chemical tests to ensure quality of the pool water
  • Assist with the identification of maintenance requirements
  • Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation

Essential skills and experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako:

  • Hold a current Comprehensive First Aid and a Pool Lifeguard Practicing certificate
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Hold a current Swimming Pool Water Treatment qualification is an advantage

You can expect to start in this permanent, full-time role with a salary of between $57,927 - $59,160.
