Are you an experienced design engineer looking to make a real difference in your community? We are seeking a skilled and motivated Capital Design Engineer to join our Water Services team and help deliver high-quality infrastructure that supports our growing district.

About the Role

The Assistant Capital Design Engineer is responsible for and supports other Water Service team members with the design, planning, and delivery of capital and renewal projects within the Water Supply, Wastewater, and Stormwater (Three Waters) portfolios. The role is to assist with ensuring that all Annual Plan and Long-Term Plan (LTP) projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget while meeting Council, legislative, and industry standards.

This role works alongside other members of the Water Services team to complete engineering design, The position delivers technical reports and advice to the Water Services Manager, Group Manager, and Council and plays a key role in championing Health & Safety across all operations.

 

You will work collaboratively within the Water Services team to:

  • Assist with project design and Technical delivery of Three Water capital and renewal projects
  • Prepare and develop drawings, schedules and cost estimates, while being involved with tenderprocess.

About You

You will be a proactive and solutions-focused engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment. You will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (required).
  • Project management qualifications advantageous.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in civil engineering design.
  • Strong understanding of local government processes.
