Asset Management Technician – Cadet
Gisborne District Council are working together with our communities to make our aspirations happen. Tairawhiti is the first place to see the light and we’re working to transform our region to be the first choice for people and lifestyle, the first place for environment, economy and culture. We’re looking for an innovative professional to join our team now.
Do you have a passion for plans/maps, local government infrastructure and computers? An existing opportunity exists to join the infrastructure team at Gisborne District Council in the creation, quality assurance and management of underground services asset and related data. The role will accept asset data from external contractors, ensure its quality and process the data into a variety of asset management computer systems. The role also is a ‘go to’ contact for asset information queries and maps from internal staff and contractors.
You will need a sound ability to interpret maps and plans, experience with mapping systems and common office software (including advanced Excel) and good knowledge of data and database management concepts. Ideally this will include an understanding of civil engineering and electronic plan drawing.
Applicants will be highly motivated team players who form positive relationships with staff and external contractors, are well organised and committed to providing excellent service and quality results.
