Advisor Planning and Reporting / Kaitohutohu

We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity, as Advisor Planning and Reporting, to help shape the future of the Wellington region, through best practice planning and reporting processes.
In this role you will help lead and develop Greater Wellington’s corporate planning and reporting processes (i.e. Long Term Plans, Annual Plans, Annual Reports, Business Plans and Quarterly Reports). You will help the organisation take a long-term view and you will connect the dots across the organisation.
This role sits in the Strategy group, which helps Greater Wellington shape the future, enabling a thriving, connected and resilient region. You will work alongside people who are working on big strategic issues such a climate change, economic recovery from COVID-19 and partnering with mana whenua.
Skills and experience required:
To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter, able to manage competing priorities on a wide-range of projects, work with councillors and senior management, as well as engage with the community.
You will need to have:
the ability to lead a business process or project from end-to-end
a good understanding of the issues facing local or regional government, or equivalent experience in central government or consultancy
strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and summarise data
a proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to work well with other teams.
