If you are aged between 16 and 19 either still at secondary school or a recent school leaver, we'd love to hear from you.

Working with Jason Shailer Youth Manager, 100% SWEET, Council will be taking placements throughout the school year in 2019. The following information outlines the process you will need to follow to apply/register your interest and be selected for work experience with Council.

We will be taking one student, for one week, per area, per term:

Term 1: 4th - 8th March, 2019

Term 2: 6th - 10th May, 2019

Term 3: 19th - 23rd August, 2019

How do you apply?

You will need to apply here at the Council's careers on-line application process.

To complete the application process ensure all questions on the application form are answered. Please attach a copy of your CV/Resume and a covering letter telling us what interests you about Council along with which area you would like to work in.

Note: For this application process we are recruiting for Term 1 only. We will be looking for new students and recruiting to Terms 2 and 3 later in 2019. The work areas that are available for Term 1 2019 are as follows:

What happens once I have applied?

At Council we want to give you a good idea of what it is like working in a professional setting. So we want to start you off experiencing a realistic job application process right from shortlisting, attending an interview, being notified if you have been successful or unsuccessful with feedback from your initial application or from the interview. If you are successful you will then undertake our on-boarding process with an orientation and induction to Council and the area you will be working in.

On-line applications close, note you will not be able to submit an application after this time. Council will not accept late applications


On or around the week of 28 January 2019

A selection panel will review all of the applications and shortlist to interview


Early February 2019

Those that have been successful to interview will be notified by phone. Interviews will take place in early 2019


Mid to Late February 2019

Those that have been successful from interview will be sent all the information you need to start your first day with Council
