Waikato District Council is looking for a solution focused, friendly, and reliable individual to join the Waters Team. This is a key role in the operation and maintenance of Council's water treatment plants to ensure safe drinking water, and the efficient management of wastewater throughout the district. There is a requirement to bring innovative ideas that will lead to new and improved practices to support a district that is experiencing significant growth and change.

You will be expected to deliver high quality service to customers such as supporting them through regulations and legislation. You are constantly responsive to and taking ownership of requests that resolve customer's queries and issues. Building successful working relationships with colleagues is necessary in the role as well as integrating across other teams and groups within Council. You are expected to be part of the retention and development of good team culture including the promotion and taking accountability for sound and effective zero harm practices. There is an On Call expectation, which is rotated within the team on a frequent basis.

To be successful in this role, you will have a form of trade and/or carry any relevant certifications. Additional licences and/or certificates in the handling or transporting dangerous goods are desirable. Prior manufacturing and processing knowledge is desired with solid demonstrable understanding of water and wastewater treatment. Sound time management and strong communication skills is required to be successful in this role.
