Team Leader Community Funding

When you join our team, the results and success of your work are evident in every facet of life within our city and our communities. We work together every day to shape communities and create a city that we can be truly proud of.

The overarching purpose of a Community Funding team is to coordinate and oversee the Council's contestable community funding schemes. This includes providing advice, guidance and support to staff across the unit who complete funding assessments for Council community funding grants.

As leader of this passionate team, you'll provide guidance and advice on policy and processes and support your team to provide advice to elected members regarding funding applications. As well as making sure the team is running smoothly, you'll set work plans to ensure a more strategic outlook to the way we do things and work across the organisation and looking at the implications of what we currently do and most importantly, how we can be better.

You'll understand the importance of working in better partnership with local boards and the community, as you use your natural ability to communicate and build strong relationships. You'll make sure that all along the way, there is alignment with funding outcomes and priorities but with the understanding that sometimes the process doesn't always fit, and we need to provide a level of flexibility as well as remain rational and impartial.

You'll be a capable leader with first-rate communication skills, both verbal and written, as this role will require you to liaise with stakeholders at all levels both internal and external to the organisation as well as within the community. You'll come to us with experience utilising community funding, along with a good knowledge of the structure and processes of not-for-profit organisations.

We're a small, supportive team with high standards of professionalism. We're entering a new phase in the way that we provide funding and this is the opportunity for you to use your strategic thinking skills and experience to drive this forward. This is an exciting opportunity for you to bring your flexible, can-do attitude and make a real difference to the city that you live in by facilitating vital funding for groups who are doing great things for the community.

Take on a role at the Council, and take pride in making a difference to our great city every day. It's time to get in touch.
