Who are we looking for?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Planning Team Leader to join the Planning and Policy team in our new Community Growth Group. As part of this role you will manage a team of strategic planners and provide leadership on the development, review and implementation of the council's guiding strategies, growth management plans (such as structure plans), and district-wide and local area blueprints. You will also lead your team in sub-regional spatial planning with other Councils and government agencies, providing strategic support to District Plan reviews and plan changes, and being part of several virtual teams providing technical support to other key initiatives and projects within Council.

Ideally you will have a relevant tertiary qualification in planning or a related field, along with a minimum of five years' work experience in the area of planning and significant experience in leading teams. Experience working in local government and managing projects would be key to achieving success in this role.
