Roading Asset Engineer
Have you heard? We're doing things differently at Waikato District Council. We're overhauling our operations, breaking down hierarchy, smashing silos and improving community planning. We're cultivating an innovative learning culture, and pushing co-design when it comes to our community.
To make this change successful we need great people. Are you one of them?
Who are we looking for
The Roading Asset Engineer will work with the Roading team and Waikato District Alliance to identify and manage long term renewal and capital works programmes and develop and implement Activity Management Plans for Roading assets. Developing close working relationships with the corporate planning team and key stakeholders such as the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and the Waikato Regional Council is critical for the success of this role.
The Assets team delivers high quality asset management, analysis, planning and programming services for roads, property and facilities that align to industry best practice. The team works closely with the Open Spaces and Council Facilities teams to ensure there is a strong connection between asset planning and operations.
As the ideal candidate, you will have a minimum of 10 years technical experience in asset management and planning in a similar environment. You will also have a good understanding of local government roading and transportation management practices and associated legislative requirements.
Do you enjoy developing and implementing Asset lifecycle management strategies, have the ability to exercise judgement in problem solving, question the status quo and to adapt to changing circumstances in combination with highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills, then we would love to hear from you.
