Recreation Centres Manager

There's nothing like refreshing change to start the year, is there? There's a lot of it happening here and we'd love you to help us with it.

As part of a reorganisation in our recreation facilities, we've created this new role to provide overarching strategic direction at our four recreation centres. The aim is to streamline the way our facilities are run and strengthen the relationships between them, providing a more consistent customer experience.

As well as working on strategy, you'll be working with recreation centre staff to help them grow and develop. They'll do most of the day-to-day running of the facilities; you'll be giving them the tools to do their job well and developing their capabilities. After all, when frontline staff are happy, so are the customers. That's success and job satisfaction for you.

There's a lot of cooperation and idea sharing in this role. You'll work as part of a senior leadership team, with other managers, and share knowledge and expertise across our recreational facilities. We've already got a positive, collaborative culture, with continuous improvement a focus. Health and safety is strong here, as is developing programmes that benefit our customers.

There'll be a real opportunity to show us what you can do and prove yourself from the get-go. You'll start by developing a business plan for the community recreation centres, so your fresh and innovative ideas will be welcomed from day one.

Are you already looking forward to what you could be achieving at work? Then look forward to your life in Wellington, too. There's lots to see and do every day with great food, even better coffee and loads of outdoor activities within minutes of the CBD, it has everything that makes a city great to live in.

If you get a huge sense of satisfaction from devising core strategies and supporting people to develop and grow, you're in the right place. You'll be joining an already well-utilised set of facilities at an exciting time of change, and bringing your leadership skills to make them even better in every way. Are you ready? We are.
