About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Rates and Water Billing Officer to work in the busy Rates team within the wider Financial Services team at the Far North District Council. You must be able to work Monday to Friday with a rotating roster from 8am to 5pm – working a 40 hour week. This role is mainly transactional with a high focus on customer service; a background in Financial Services and/or a Call Centre environment would be advantageous. Accuracy is key!
The purpose of the role is to:
- Process rating and water enquiries/transactions to ensure an accurate database and billing.
- Assist Customer Liaison staff to enable them to effectively and efficiently handle customer rating and water rating queries
- Process customer applications of Council Remission and Postponement Policies.
- Process, maintain and audit direct debits within the rating and other debtor modules.
