We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to lead the development of best practice procurement strategies, policies and procedures for the Waipa District Council. Reporting to the Manager, Finance, this role is responsible for providing procurement and contractual advice and support to managers across the organisation.

Key responsibilities for the position include:

  • advising and assisting with evaluation and management of contractor, supplier and vendor performance
  • analysis of procurement activity utilising the Council's finance system, supplier reporting and other available tools to identify opportunities to improve
  • peer/quality review of key procurement and contract documentation such as procurement plans and contract documents
  • monitoring organisation for compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
To achieve success in this role you will be an strong and effective communicator with the ability to develop excellent working relationships with both internal and external customers. You will have experience in end to end procurement and have the ability and confidence to provide procurement advice and reporting to a senior level. A CIPS or relevant qualification is essential, and local government experience would be a definite advantage.
