Dunedin is an amazing place to live and work, and if you were to ask anyone living here, they’ll tell you that there’s something indescribably special about our city. It’s small enough to feel like you’re part of a community, but big enough to ensure that there’s always something going on. From the great outdoors to arts, culture and education, all within 10 minutes of the city centre. Dunedin has so much to offer, so why not come and feel just how special it is?
The Dunedin City Council’s Property Services Group is responsible for a range of facilities for our varied community stakeholders, including playgrounds and sports facilities, swimming pools, libraries, cemeteries, art galleries and museums, and community housing.
With over a thousand tenants, we are the second largest landlord in the city. The role of the Housing Manager is to deliver the strategic and functional housing goals of Dunedin City Council for the people of Dunedin.
You will manage a team of Tenancy Managers, and be responsible for the Council’s Housing portfolio. You will also:
- lead and develop the Council Housing Strategy into key projects and work programmes to help meet the Council’s goals
- ensure the residents of Dunedin City Council housing are well-housed in habitable, affordable, culturally appropriate and accessible housing
- develop budgets and source resources to deliver the key project and work programmes of the Council Housing Strategy
- lead the risk management of the Housing portfolio to ensure all risks are identified, effectively managed and communicated.
You will have a passion for helping people, great interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to lead a team, and be focused on delivering long term strategic objectives.
So, if you want to further your career, are eager to lead a great team, and have the drive and motivation to help Council succeed in the community, then we look forward to hearing from you.
