HR Administration Team Leader


After being in the role for the past 14 years, the incumbent is retiring and leaves behind them an opportunity for someone new to come in and take this role to the next stage, bringing in fresh ideas and experience.

As the Team Leader HR Administration, your role is to lead a high-performance team culture and manage and coach a team of six administrators to ensure the information they prepare is accurate, compliant with employment legislation and of high quality. As a technical expert, you will also manage the more complex situations that have a wider impact on our organisation including HR Information System upgrades, translating and implementing legislative changes into the Council's employment agreements and documentation, whilst leading and driving continuous improvement - focussing on our responsiveness and service delivery.  

It goes without saying that you will be an established and strong leader who loves developing people, has an excellent understanding of HR Information Systems (SAP knowledge would be an advantage) and has a solid understanding of HR legislation. We're also looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, is solution focused and who is always looking at how our systems and processes can be improved. As a natural problem solver and someone who understands HR administration in a large and complex organisation, you'll be hands-on when required. Good people skills are a must, as you will need to communicate and collaborate with a range of people within Council, across a variety of disciplines and departments, including working closely with our Payroll colleagues.
