Civil Defence and Emergency Manager

We have a rare role that’s just become available within our Tairawhiti region. This significant role requires a special person at the helm and we are looking for dedicated and skilled candidates to apply for this vital role in our community now. 

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high performing team and really apply and share your knowledge of Civil Defence and Emergency. You will be a Group Controller or Alternate Group Controller, responsible for  the leadership, strategic management and coordination of activities and services in the areas of CDEM.

The role also requires collaborative leadership and a management style and can demonstrate success in establishing a high level of trust with key individuals, partner organisations and communities, stakeholders and iwi and hapu.

This position also demands strong internal relationships across Council to ensure emergency management communication is proactive and prioritised. The team, led by you, will lead, direct and coordinate the CDEM Group response to emergencies.

 To be successful in this role you will need demonstrated experience in: 

  • Leadership
  • CDEM Team Management
  • Community Resilience Building
  • Health and Safety

Candidates must be able to supply evidence of relevant qualifications and certifications and we will require full reference details.
